LOS ANGELES -- An animal rights organization offered a $2,500 reward Thursday
for information to help track down whoever abused two horses found abandoned
in the Downey, Calif., area in October.
The reward was offered by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
One horse was severely emaciated, while the other showed signs of being a
victim of "illegal horse tripping," said PETA's Stephanie Bell.
Bell said the animals may be linked to another horse found abandoned near the
San Gabriel River in Norwalk, Calif., in April.
No arrests have been made in that case, either.
Anyone with more information about the animals was urged to call Cpl. Charles
Miller of the Southeast Area Animal Control Authority at (562) 803- 3301,
ext. 224.
