Maxfund shelter has gone to the dogs - and other homeless pets

Nanci Suro, founder and director of Maxfund Animal Adoption Center, 1025 
Galapago St., Denver 
Most people have office doors. Nanci Suro has an office gate. 
Suro shares her office not only with her husband, Bill, but also with a small 
rat terrier named Lana. 
Lana, who was rescued in Alamosa, has her own dog bed and water bowl under 
Suro's desk. She's quick to leap up and bark hello to any visitor, hence the 
2-foot-tall dog gate wedged into Suro's office doorway.
