Animal activists say they are considering legal action to stop sheep being
loaded for export at Portland, in western Victoria, from leaving Australia.

About 70,000 sheep are expected to be loaded from midday AEDT, after being
held up in feedlots for more than a fortnight because their feed was
allegedly contaminated by pork products.

Police are on standby in case there is a protest.

Executive director of Animal Liberation New South Wales, Mark Pearson,
says his group has no intention of disrupting the loading.
