[from Taunton Gazette]

TAUNTON -- A city woman accused earlier this month of keeping nearly 40
neglected and starved cats in her Randall Street apartment has yet to be
formally charged with a crime, but already a Virginia-based animal rights
group is demanding she serve jail time.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) issued a press release
yesterday afternoon and sent a copy of a letter to Bristol County District
Attorney Paul F. Walsh Jr. asking for 44-year-old Debra Flint’s
incarceration on grounds she may be an "animal hoarder."
...
Four of the cats and the parakeet have died so far, and the remaining 35
cats are now in the custody of the Animal Rescue League of Boston until
they are healthy enough for adoption.
