Americans celebrate the Thanksgiving with a multitude of animal products -
well, everyone except vegans.

Vegans still participate in the traditions without consuming animals,
which they believe share the same inherent moral rights that humans do.

"Thanksgiving is a time for families to give thanks for things that they
regularly deprive animals of: freedom, happiness, comfort and life," said
Brian Davidson, president of the Alabama Animal Rights Fellowship and a
senior biology major.
...
Hiatt said that at first he too thought vegans ate weird, expensive
products that lacked variety. This year as a vegetarian, he watched the
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' anti-meat film Meet Your Meat
and resolved to give up all animal products on his last birthday. He said
his conscience has never been clearer.
