Officials for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife are looking for a
volunteer to serve as a hunter representative on the Access and Habitat Program’
s South Willamette Advisory Council.
The South Willamette Council covers Linn, Polk, Benton, Lane, Lincoln and
most of Marion counties.
The Access and Habitat Program was created by the Oregon Legislature in 1993.
Money for projects comes from a surcharge on hunting licenses.
A seven-member citizen board oversees the program, reviews hunter access and
wildlife habitat improvement grant proposals from various organizations and
agencies, then forwards its recommendations to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife
Commission for final approval.
