This disease cannot be spread to humans, children are not at risk and no 
special care is needed. FIV cats can live long and healthy lives.

Cat Adoption Team, a no-kill rescue and adoption shelter at 14175 S.W. 
Galbreath Drive, Sherwood. Adoption hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily; 925-8803 or 
www.catadoptionteam.org. Each week The Oregonian features an adoptable cat or dog 
from one of the local animal shelters. Featured animals are subject to prior 
adoption.
