October 22, 2003 --  HUNTERS and New Jersey wildlife officials are being
harassed by animal rights people over the state's bear hunt, which is
still more than a month away.

According to recent reports, New Jersey wildlife officials say their traps
and snares for problem bears are being destroyed and their vehicles are
being sabotaged. Even some of New Jersey's bowhunters have had their tires
slashed.

All this and the first New Jersey bear hunt in 30 years won't start until
December 8. It's feared that things could get even nastier than what they
are now, especially with such radical groups like the Animal Liberation
Front lurking about.
