Big money continued to roll into both sides of the Amendment 33 campaign,
pushing the total to more than $7.8 million and making the ballot
initiative the most expensive in Colorado history.

Supporters and opponents of video lottery machines in dog and horse tracks
crushed the old record by more than $1 million, according to campaign
finance reports filed Monday.
Critics range from gambling opponents to animal-rights activists who want
greyhound racing stopped, but Colorado's mountain casinos have largely

casinos fear they will lose customers to racetracks if video lottery is
allowed on the Front Range.
