Center For Healthcare Integration Will Carry Out Hospital's New Plans

Norwich— Indicative of a growing trend in the medical field, The William W. 
Backus Hospital announced Friday that it will begin integrating what were once 
considered alternative therapies –– therapeutic massage, pet therapy and 
guided imagery –– into its overall program of patient care. 
To carry out the initiative, the hospital announced the creation of the 
Center for Healthcare Integration, which will have responsibility for coordinating 
such therapies into the healthcare services and for evaluating whether 
additional therapies should be introduced in the future.
