NORTH BRUNSWICK ? Feathers aren?t flying fast enough, as local waterways
remain overpopulated with geese, according to residents.
Canada geese have taken over Boyd Pond and other local bodies of water in
township parks, causing residents to complain to the Township Council in
recent weeks, according to Department of Parks and Recreation Director Lou
Ann Benson.
...
The population of geese in New Jersey rose dramatically in the 1980s and
continues to rise today with numbers upward of 280,000 in the winter,
which is the peak season for migratory birds, according to the New Jersey
Department of Environmental Protection.
