SASKATOON - Last week, selected cuts of Canadian beef started
moving across the U.S. border. But the continuing embargo on live
cattle has cow-calf operators worried they are the next casualties of
BSE.

Meat moving across the Canada-U.S. border is the first sign that the
crisis brought on by the discovery of a single case of so-called Mad
Cow in an Alberta in May could finally be coming to an end.

However, the hundreds of farmers who crowded into the Rosetown Civic
Centre recently to get an update on negotiations with the United
States are still worried about what the future holds for them.
