AR-News: (US) Deaths of cats not defendant's fault, lawyer says

SARASOTA -- Based on three animal cruelty reports against Cathy Brand
over the past year, the discovery of 13 dead cats on her property
Sunday could appear to be a case of neglect.

But not according to Brand's attorney, who spent Monday weaving a
conspiracy theory.

Someone lifted a chicken-wire fence, broke into the property and
killed the 13 cats, possibly in an attempt to discredit Brand,
attorney Audrey Bear said.
