[from Sultan Herald]
SULTAN -- Hundreds of hungry minks freed by animal activists earlier
this week are swarming Sultan-area farms, killing at least 25 exotic
birds Wednesday and slaying other livestock.
"Over half our livestock was shredded. Murdered. Eaten alive," said
farm owner Jeff Weaver, who discovered the carnage of birds on his
farm Thursday morning. "These are not like regular farm animals.
They're our pets."
...
The minks killed Weaver's geese, chicken and ducks and wounded his
bird dog, Copper. They also ate an entire 50-pound bag of bird feed,
leaving only a 6-by 4-inch square of the bag.
The Animal Liberation Front has publicly claimed responsibility for
freeing about 10,000 mink early Monday morning from a farm on the
outskirts of Sultan.
