AR-News: (US) Rooster breeder sues

A Redwood Valley man accused of but never charged with breeding roosters
for fighting is seeking $11.4 million in damages from the Mendocino County
Major Crimes Task Force, a local Superior Court judge and other county
officials.

In a claim filed this week with the county Board of Supervisors, Ciro Ruiz
contends that task force members violated his and six other family
members' civil rights when officers raided the family home on Feb. 12. At
the time, 58 roosters suspected of being bred to fight were destroyed and
family members were falsely imprisoned in their own home, according to the
claim.
