AR-News: (US) Four PETA members arrested at Tampa, San Diego zoos

TAMPA, Fla. - Four members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
were arrested Thursday after they stormed into zoos in San Diego and Tampa
to protest the importation of elephants from Swaziland.

San Diego Police arrested Lisa Ann Wathne, 42, of Washington state, on a
charge of trespassing. She was issued a misdemeanor citation and released.

Wathne was arrested around noon as she made an unsuccessful attempt to
chain herself to an administration building, said police spokesman Bill
Robinson. Officers confiscated the locking device.

In Tampa, police arrested Alan Hugh Berger, 57, of Charleston, S.C., on a
trespassing charge and Jayson A. Bayless, 29, of Norfolk, Va., and Valerie
Lee Silidker, 28, of Davie, on burglary and disorderly conduct charges.
