AR-News: (US) Ban of Meat Linked to SARS Said to End

BEIJING (AP) - An animal considered a delicacy in parts of China will be
available for sale once again despite possible links to SARS, the
government and state media said Thursday as Beijing's final SARS patients
prepared to leave the hospital.

Trade in civet cats had been banned since the height of the outbreak of
severe acute respiratory syndrome in China this spring. But this week, the
Forestry Administration announced it was lifting the prohibition on trade
in 54 types of wildlife.
