Australia plans koala contraception
Growing population in park diminishes food supply
A koala sits in a tree outside a residence in Port Macquarie. Around 3,000
wild female koalas in the Mount Eccles National Park will be injected with a
small tube containing the same hormones as the contraceptive pill.
CANBERRA, Australia, July 30 Female koalas are being given contraception
in the Australian state of Victoria because the population is eating itself
out of house and home.
