AR-News: (US) Unwanted gift rabbits overrun shelters

About three months ago, rabbits were being purchased as Easter gifts.
Today, rab bits are over running sev eral area shelters plus a rabbit
rescue group.

These former gifts are being dropped off at the shelters because their
novelty as pets has worn thin.

The Lake County Humane Society in Mentor had 11, at last count. The Animal
Protective League of Cleveland has seven or eight. "We usually have two or
three," said Susan Ross, director of development.
