MANCHESTER -- Two neglected Nubian goats named Buckeye and White Cloud, a
former street-scrounging cat named Nancy -- or Carwash Kitty -- and
Gulliver, an affectionate horse that nearly became a laboratory test
subject, all have Monte Jackson and Dorothy Davies to thank for saving
their lives.

For more than 20 years, the husband-and-wife animal care team has taken
the term animal lover to the extreme by spending most of their free time
and extra money helping and caring for unwanted, neglected and abused
horses, pigs, geese, cows, chickens, sheep and more at their SASHA Farm
Animal Sanctuary, about 25 miles outside Ann Arbor.
