AR-News: (US) Judge's ruling bad news for pets, lawyer warns

A 51-year-old man who brought his dead Lhasa apso to the SPCA for
disposal was found guilty yesterday of failing to provide the
necessities of life to the dying dog.

His lawyer says the conviction may set a legal precedent and could
make pet owners afraid to take their sick or diseased animals to
professionals for fear of being charged with neglect.
