June 3, 2003 -- Vampish Vogue editrix Anna Wintour will be the poster
girl for an anti-fur campaign, but the radical animal-rights group PETA
will have to spend a lot more money on it because its original ad agency
suddenly got cold feet, The Post has learned.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals had planned to debut a
citywide poster campaign yesterday featuring a hideous photo of the
fashion maven with the legend: "Fur is worn by beautiful animals & ugly
people. Anna Wintour: Keeping Cruelty in Vogue."
 Five PETA members, dressed in "bloody" fur coats with their legs "caught"
in steel traps, dragged themselves to the entrance of the Condé Nast
building in Times Square and dumped blood-red paint in the entrance.

Cops charged Karla Waples, 28; Sara Radovanovich, 25; Patrick Kwan, 21;
Matt Prescott, 21, and Alex Hodgkins, 19, with disorderly conduct and
criminal mischief.
