FARMER TO THE RESCUE
>From Herald Sun 11/5/2003

A start of the blockbuster movie 'Babe' has joined a campaign
condemning controversial farming practices at Australian
piggeries.

American actor James Cromwell, who played farmer Hoggett in
the 1994 film, yesterday called for the banning of sow-stall
piggeries.

Cromwell, in Victoria to make the US mini-series 'Salem's Lot',
described sow stalls as "cruel, inhumane and needless".
